KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Cal Poly Pomona's 'season of firsts' ended Monday but the Broncos continue to be recognized for their 28-3 year that featured a sweep of the conference regular season and tournament titles.

Head coach Greg Kamansky has been named the region's Coach of the Year while Mitchel Anderson and Terrence Drisdom have been featured on the All-West Region First Team, officials from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced Friday morning.

It marks the third time that Kamansky earned West Region Coach of the Year selection with the previous instances coming in 2009 and 2010. This past season - his 13th at CPP - Kamansky raised his career totals to 270-110 for a winning percentage of .711. Completing Kamansky's staff with top-notch leadership, recruiting and mentoring are associate head coach Damion Hill and assistant coach Clint Allard.

Anderson, a Temecula, Calif., native, is one of the best men's basketball players to wear a Bronco uniform. He finished with 1,433 points and 180 steals through his four-year collegiate career, ranking third all-time for the program in both statistics. Anderson is now the school's leader in three-pointers, knocking down 190 while at CPP. Earlier in March, Anderson picked up California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Most Valuable Player honors for both the regular season and tournament.

Drisdom provided the Broncos with consistently stellar all-around play this past season during a breakthrough junior campaign. A Corona, Calif., native, Drisdom averaged 13 points per game to rank second on the team in scoring while proving to be CPP's top free throw shooter at 82 percent. He ranked first in the CCAA for steals per game with an average of 2.0 while finishing in the top 10 for assists as well. Drisdom tallied a career-high 26 points last Friday, leading the Broncos to a 69-61 first-round win over Chico State in the NCAA Tournament.

The 2012-13 Broncos' squad matched the program record for wins at 28, even with the 2010 national championship team. Kamansky, Anderson and Drisdom played a key role in CPP finishing No. 1 nationally in defense for the first time in school history as the Broncos limited opponents to 56.3 points per game. CPP is the first CCAA team to end a year at No. 1 for defense since Cal Poly SLO accomplished the feat in 1985.

The Broncos were picked to finish second in the CCAA preseason poll but ended up capturing the program's first-ever outright regular season title. CPP started at No. 25 nationally in the NABC preseason poll and climbed all the way to No. 4 while being featured in the top 25 for a school-record 16-straight weeks.
