As a Junior in 2013: Competed in four meets for the Broncos as a junior... Raced his fastest 8,000-meter time at the Pomona Pitzer Invite in Claremont, crossing the line in 26:59.4.
As a Sophomore in 2012: Once again competed in three meets for the CPP squad... Raced to his fastest 8,000-meter time of 27:13.1 at the Pomona Pitzer Invite.
As a Freshman in 2011: Participated in three meets for the Broncos in 2011... Raced his season-best mark in the 8,000-meter event at UC Riverside on Sept. 17, crossing the line in 27:40.3.
High School: A 2011 graduate of Glendora High School... Earned the Most Improved Runner award in cross country... Recorded personal bests of 16:04 over three miles, 10:27.88 for two miles and 4:40.17 for one mile... Received All-League Academic and Scholar-Athlete awards.
Personal: Son of Manuel and Ana Nunez... Has two older siblings named Manny and Gianina... Environmental Biology major... One of his cousins, Leonel Espinoza, plays on the Broncos' men's soccer team... Another cousin, Eric Espinoza, competes in cross country and track and field at La Verne... Enjoys sleeping, hiking and hanging out with friends in his free time... Favorite pro teams are the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Galaxy and the Chicago Bulls... Favorite pro athlete is Derrick Rose... Aspires to help third-world countries and work in the environmental field.
