Things to Remember

Upon arrival you will need to complete our Tryout Application/Waivers, etc. Please arrive early and on time. If you are chosen as part of the team you will be given a Team Contract with Rules, Regulations, etc. Costs for the team will also be reviewed at the tryout. Costs for the team include Uniform, Poms, Warm Ups, Sweats, Clothing, Shoes and Backpack (Approximate cost: $650-$700 for the season).
Tryouts are open for all Cal Poly Pomona students (Female and Male). We encourage graduating H.S. seniors to tryout for our teams as well. There are no set requirements for our teams, but we do suggest some experience is needed. Our teams do stunt and tumble!
If you cannot attend the initial tryout, please contact us to arrange a private audition or to send Video Entry. We will also be having a 2nd tryout in October 2010 once classes are back in session. This past year we did add members during the Summer as well as during the season.
Our cheer team is Coached by Luis Gonzales. He is the current Owner and Coach of Rockstar Athletics All-Star Cheer located in Baldwin Park, CA. His experience in the cheer industry ranges from Jr teams, H.S. teams, Collegiate and All-Stars. Luis was also part of the Wolrds Cheerleading Championship Silver Medalist, PACE EMPIRE Level 6 team in 2008. He has won several National titles as a competitive and collegiate cheerleader himself, as well as in coaching.
Our teams attend various school events, games and rallies. We cheer at Mens and Womens Soccer, Volleyball and Basketball games during our season. During this past season we competed at local and National events, and are aiming to compete again for this upcoming season. We attended the USA Collegiate Nationals for the first time as a competitive team in 2010. We placed 2nd at the California State Championships, and 1st at the Best of the West Invitational. Our goal is to increase and promote School Spirit and Sportsmanship. We are looking for members who have 100% commitment and dedication to our program.
