Tony Reyes, one of the most honored Cal Poly Pomona cross country athletes in school history, returns for his second stint and fourth year overall as an assistant coach for both the Cal Poly Pomona cross country men's and women's programs.
Reyes earned seven total All-American honors for the Broncos and won two of those honors in cross country in 1980 and 1983.
Reyes also holds the second-fastest 10,000 meter time in the program's history with his 30:08.0 clocking at the NCAA Division II West Regional in Riverside in 1982. He was a major cog of the 1983 team that won the NCAA Division II championship.
Reyes was also a five-time All-American in track and field, earning honors in 1980 (1500 meters), 1981 (1500 meters), 1982 (1500 meters) and 1984 (1500 meters, 3000 steeplechase). He holds the school records in the mile (4:08.18) and the steeplechase (8:53.28).
