After leading the Cal Poly Pomona women’s cross country team to an appearance at the NCAA Division II National Championships, Tiffany Dinh has gotten off to a strong start in the track and field season in 2011. At the prestigious Mt. SAC Relays on Friday, Dinh broke the 17-minute mark in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 16:59.64. That improves her provisional national qualifier (PNQ) by more than 15 seconds. Her time on Friday ranks 22nd nationally at the Division II level.
