With their 18th-round pick in the Major League Baseball first-year player draft, the New York Mets selected Cal Poly Pomona's Travis Taijeron. He played in his first minor league games this past weekend, going 5-for-10 at the plate for his new squad - the Brooklyn Cyclones.
