Ryan Carrell continues to show improvement through the 2011 cross country season. He took another big step Saturday in placing first overall at the Triton Classic Invitational in La Jolla. With a time of 32 minutes, 44.9 seconds, the Westminster native cross the line first over the 10,000-meter race. Of races with more than 50 runners, Carrell's victory marks the first time a CPP runner has won a meet since Geraldo Rabelo took first at the Redlands Invitational on Sept. 23, 2006. In addition, Carrell's mark is a career-best for 10,000 meters. He placed 11th at the meet in 2010. Overall, the Broncos finished third as a team at the meet.
