Cal Poly Pomona Athletics

Kelly Bonja put together a pair of impressive defensive performances this past weekend as the Cal Poly Pomona volleyball team went 1-1 at Kellogg Gym. Between the two matches, she averaged 5.8 digs per set to best her season average by more than one dig. With that elevated rate, Bonja moved into first place on the CCAA leaderboard for digs per set.

Bonja collected 28 digs Saturday in the Broncos' 3-2 win over Cal State L.A. and with that total, moved into third place all-time in the Broncos' record book. With 1,096 digs in her CPP career, Bonja only trails Kiting Kolar (1,517 from 2004 through 2007) and Nikki Egilske (1,261 from 1991 through 1994).
