Cal Poly Pomona Athletics

Senior forward Brandon Cortez led the Cal Poly Pomona men's soccer team to two victories this past weekend as the Broncos outscored their opponents 7-2 through the home games.

Cortez scored four of those seven goals with two on Friday against Sonoma State and another two on Sunday against Humboldt State. He scored the game winners in both contests while needing just eight shots for the four scores.

The Mission Viejo native started the week with four career goals and he doubled that total in a span of just three days. Cortez now ranks second in the conference for goals scored with five in 2013.
