Cal Poly Pomona Athletics

Senior closer J.J. Franklin set a Cal Poly Pomona school record this past weekend in Utah, earning his 10th and 11th career saves to match and then break the previous CPP record set in 1966. A 6-foot-5 right-hander from Chino, Franklin totaled 2.2 innings through the two appearances. He didn't allow a hit or run in that span, while also striking out two hitters. The Broncos ended up securing a four-game sweep over Dixie State. Franklin and the CPP squad return to action Friday at Azusa Pacific.
