Competing in one of the final events of the NCAA Division II National Championships, Francisco Gomez finished 10th in the 5,000-meter race to earn the All-American accolade.

"All of our student-athletes competed today and I couldn't be more proud," head coachOctavious Gillespie-Bennett said. "Francisco put his whole heart into that race and it was special to see him get the All-American honor."

Gomez crossed the line in 14:29.51, just 17 seconds behind the national champion.
