Cal Poly Pomona Athletics

In the last race of her collegiate career, Lizette Huerta shined bright in the national spotlight while breaking a Cal Poly Pomona record.

Placing fourth in the 1,500-meter race at the NCAA Division II National Championships, Huerta earned All-American honors. Her time of 4:24.64 also set a new Cal Poly Pomona record at that distance. She is the seventh CPP female student-athlete to receive the All-American accolade for the 1,500-meter distance.

A senior from Ontario, Huerta is a Colony High School graduate. She has also already earned her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from CPP and is currently pursuing her teacher's credential with the Broncos.
