Adam Reeves enters his second season as the head coach of the Cal Poly Pomona men's soccer team in 2018.
Prior to being named the head coach in January 2017, he served on the Broncos' coaching staff as the Associate Head Coach.
In his first season with the Broncos, Reeves helped the team reach new heights, the likes of which the program had never before seen. The program won its second California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Tournament title, which advanced them to the West Region Tournament. The Broncos hosted the tournament and as the No. 1 seeded team in the West, secured a first round bye. With their second round 1-0 victory over Cal State LA, Reeves helped the Bronco Men's Soccer program to earn its first-ever NCAA tournament win.
In the third and quarterfinal round of the NCAA tournament, the Broncos topped a pair of nationally-ranked opponents to advance to the NCAA Final Four. That Final Four matchup for the Broncos was against No. 5 Rockhurst in Pensacola, Fla. and CPP secured the 1-0 victory.
The Broncos' first four NCAA Tournament wins advanced them to the first-ever NCAA Championship game in the program's 32 year history. CPP secured second nationally after falling in the championship game to the Pfeiffer Falcons.
A 12-season veteran to collegiate coaching, Reeves previously worked at Cal State Fullerton where he served under Titans’ head coach George Kuntz. Prior to Kuntz’ appointment three seasons ago, Reeves served as the top assistant for Bob Ammann.
In 2014, the former Cal State Fullerton student-athlete helped coach the Titans to a Big West Tournament Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Reeves played soccer for the Titans back in 1998 and 1999 before transferring to the University of Washington to complete his soccer eligibility. In his season at left back for the Huskies, the team made it to the second-round of the NCAA Playoffs. At the conclusion of his playing career, he returned to Fullerton where he earned his bachelor’s in kinesiology in 2003.
He and his wife Catie, a former distance runner at Cal State Fullerton, live in Placentia with their two sons, Gonzalo and Micah.
