CARSON, Calif. –
The Cal Poly Pomona men's soccer team faced just a 1-0 deficit at halftime Friday on the road but Cal State Dominguez Hills scored four second-half goals to pull away for the victory.

The Broncos fall to .500 in conference play, 7-7-1, while the Toros improve to 9-4-2 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association as they keep possession of second place in the league's South Division. Friday's loss eliminates CPP's hope of snagging a spot in the CCAA Tournament.

On a cool night in Carson, the Broncos and Toros played even soccer through the first two-thirds of the game. After that point, the CSUDH offense took control of the contest and put the match away with three goals in the final 15 minutes of action.

Alex Munoz struck first for the Toros, netting the match's first score at 19:40 off a free kick from 25 yards out. The contest moved into halftime with the score still 1-0, as CSUDH held a 9-3 shot advantage.

Munoz tallied another goal in the 54th minute, giving the Toros a 2-0 advantage with a shot off a deflection. CSUDH added late scores from Jordan Rover (74:55), Miguel Vasquez (77:33) and Stephane Mongu (87:29) to hand the visiting Broncos the 5-0 loss.

In the losing effort, CPP goalkeeper Tony Iniguez ended up with five saves on the night. The Toros outshot the Broncos 17-5, as CPP's Juan Mejia led the visiting squad with two shots of his own.

The Broncos will play their season finale on Sunday with an 11:30 a.m. contest at Cal State L.A.
