WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Britany Garrett of the Cal Poly Pomona women's soccer team earned selection to the All-California Collegiate Athletic Association First Team, conference officials announced Wednesday.

Garrett, a senior from Lakewood, Calif., has been a stalwart on the Broncos' backline for the past four years. She recorded appearances in each and every match during that span, while collecting 15 goals and six assists along the way.

This is the third time Garrett has earned All-CCAA accolades, with her previous honors coming in 2009 and 2008 as an honorable mention.

A saavy player that contributed to both CPP's offense and defense, Garrett connected on five game-winning goals. This season, she totaled one goal and an assist while focusing on shutting down the opposition's top strikers.

After helping the Broncos to a combined 17 wins in the last two seasons, Garrett will graduate with a degree in kinesiology.

UC San Diego placed a league-high seven players on the all-conference team, while Cal State L.A. was second with six selections.

Cal State Stanislaus rookie forward Karenee Demery was the top individual honored as she was named the CCAA's Most Valuable Offensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year. UCSD forward Annette Ilg was selected Newcomer of the Year, while CSULA defender Melina Barragan and Chris Chamides were named Most Valuable Defensive Player of the Year and Coach of the Year, respectively.
