POMONA – Trailing 2-1 after doubles, the Cal Poly Pomona couldn't overcome the deficit and went on to lose 6-3 to Azusa Pacific in nonconference women's tennis at the Kellogg Tennis Complex.
The Broncos, now 1-1 overall, is idle until Feb. 18 when it plays at Cal State L.A.
“Disappointed in how we played,'' Broncos coach Sandy Kriezel said. “
Christie Lau has played very well for us the first two times out and she played well with
Kaitlin Wooldridge at No. 3. We had some others who competed well, but we didn't have it overall.''
Lau and Wooldridge earned an 8-3 victory over Jessa Lau and Emily Igness.
Lau went on to earn her second victory on the day when she defeated Sheryl Bon 6-4, 7-5 at No. 1.
Earning CPP's other victory was
Jennifer Chow, who defeated Leah Hoffee 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3.
