Broncos shut down Western New Mexico, 9-0

POMONA -- The Cal Poly Pomona women's tennis team made it five consecutive victories, earning an impressive 9-0 win over West Region foe Western New Mexico on March 26.

Pushing her singles record to 10-1 was freshman Christie Lau, who earned a 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1. Sophomore Jackie Trendt improved to 9-3 with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2.

All six players earned two wins on the day. Lau and junior Kaitlin Wooldridge increased their overall doubles record to 12-1 with a decisive 8-3 win. Mallory Brady, who won at No. 4 singles, teamed with Fallon Blattner at No. 3 doubles with an 8-3 win.

Blattner won her singles match at No. 6 (7-5, 6-3), while Wooldridge was a 6-2, 6-0 winner at No. 5.

Jennifer Chow won at No. 3 singles and earned a doubles win at No. 1 with Trendt (8-0).

The Broncos (10-3 overall) take on CCAA defending champion UC San Diego on March 31.
