POMONA -- The Cal Poly Pomona men's tennis team earned its second straight win in as many days against a SCIAC opponent, defeating visiting Occidental 5-4 on Sunday.
The Broncos, now 6-10, conclude the 2010 season Thursday when they play host to UC San Diego. First serve is set for 1:30 p.m.
CPP took two of three doubles matches with senior
Joshua Lau and junior
Keith Boggero winning 8-1 at No. 2 doubles. Junior
Shane McNulty and senior
James Lee earned an 8-0 shutout at No. 3.
The Broncos were tested in singles play, but behind the efforts of
Salvador Romero (No. 2 -- 6-3, 6-2), McNulty (No. 4 -- 6-2, 3-6, 6-4) and Boggero (No. 5 -- 7-6, 6-4), CPP took three of the six matches for the victory.
