POMONA -- The Cal Poly Pomona track and field teams sent partial squads to compete at the Pomona-
Pitzer Invite on Saturday.
Sophomore
Tramieka Thomas placed sixth in the triple jump (36-4 3/4) and anchored the fifth-place 4 x 400 relay (3:59.10). Other members were
Amanda Smith,
Brooke Gamble and
Kyle Wolff).
Senior
Megan Emami placed sixth in the long jump (17-7 1/2) and Smith was eighth (17-2).
Senior Riz Carrington was fifth in the shot put (39-8 3/4) and junior
Ileana Tejada finished fourth in the discus (133-9).
Sophomore Jake Deavers and junior
Jose Marquez each met NCAA provisional standards in their respective events.
Deavers finished second in the 400-intermediate hurdles, running a personal-best and the 10th fastest time in school history (53.33).
Marquez met the standard in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, placing third in 9:24.59.
Senior
Andrew Miller tied for second in the pole vault at 15-7.
Senior
Michael Hernandez tied for fifth in the pole vault (14-7 1/4).
