Amber Hebb were named 2009 US Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) DII All Academic Cross Country Honorees, the association announced during this past offseason.
The Broncos' team also earned team honors from the USTFCCCA. For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Championship and also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA.
To qualify for All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have completed at least 12 semester/quarter hours through the semester of competition at the institution to be eligible. The student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 cumulative grade point average and have placed in the top 30% of the total number of athletes eligible to compete at the respective regional championships or have placed in the top 50% of the field at the NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships.
Turner was a two-time All-CCAA competitor and a 2008 West Region honoree. She earned one All-American honor in her career when she placed eighth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the 2009 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Hebb also is a two-time All-CCAA cross country competitor.
The 286 USTFCCCA All-Academic honorees represent 106 schools around the country. The list includes 31 who were reported to have 4.0 GPAs at the end of the 2009 fall semester.
