LOS ANGELES
-- Cal Poly Pomona was dealt a tough task Saturday night as it was defeated by No. 17 Cal State L.A. 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-22) in CCAA volleyball.

The Broncos, who have lost four consecutive matches, are 3-6 overall and 1-3 in the CCAA.

CPP was 24/23/97 on the attack and were led by sophomore Lindsey Poulos and freshman Jessica Doerner, who each had five kills.

In Game 1, freshman LeeAnne Currie gave CPP a 20-18 lead off a kill, but three Broncos attack errors down the stretch cost any chance of getting an early advantage.

Poulos gave CPP a 22-21 lead in Game 2 on a kill, but former Bronco Natalia Gonzalez had a pair of kills late and the Golden Eagles forged a 2-games to none lead.

The Golden Eagles posted a 15-11 lead in Game 3 and the Broncos couldn't close the gap. Three CSULA attack errors posed CPP to within a point at 22-21 CSULA. But Gonzalez answered with a kill and went on to win the game and match at 25-22.

CSULA is now 6-2, 3-1
