POMONA, Calif. -
Reyana Colson scored 26 points Saturday night, raising her career mark to 1,495, as the Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball team captured its fourth-straight victory, topping Chico State 62-42.

The Broncos improve to 10-2 overall and 7-1 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association, while the Wildcats fall to 10-4 overall and 7-3 through conference play. CSUC entered the week ranked 24th in the latest USA Today ESPN Division II Top 25 poll.

After a tough shooting night on Friday, Colson rebounded with an 8-for-13 performance from the floor Saturday. She added eight rebounds, two assists and two steals.

CPP as a team put together another solid evening in rebounding, grabbing 43 boards to just 30 for the visiting CSUC squad.

The contest proved to be a defensive struggle, with the Broncos shooting 34.1 percent and the Wildcats firing at a 32-percent clip. Courtney Harrison paced the visiting squad with 19 points, as she connected on six three-pointers.

CSUC jumped out to a 6-2 advantage early in the first half but CPP swung back in front around the midway point of the period. The Broncos rallied for an 9-0 run from 4:05 to 1:37, with seven of those points coming from Colson. CPP took a 34-21 lead into halftime, with Rosslyn Beard closing the half's scoring with a layup.

The Wildcats found some momentum early in the second period, cutting the lead to 35-28 with just about four minutes passed. That was the smallest the advantage would get though, as the Broncos outscored CSUC 27-14 the rest of the way.

Through the middle portion of the closing half, CPP used solid free-throw shooting to build up the margin. On the game, the Broncos went 27-for-36 from the line (75 percent) while the Wildcats put up a 5-for-12 effort (41.7 percent).

La'kenya Simon West contributed a solid performance on the boards, totaling eight rebounds and eight points. Megan Ford tacked on seven points and seven rebounds.

Up next for CPP is a 5:30 p.m. home contest against Cal State San Bernardino as part of the "Pack the Gym" event. The Coyotes are tied with the Broncos in the CCAA standings, after defeating Cal State Stanislaus Saturday to improve to 7-1.
