SEASIDE, Calif. -
Behind 18 points from Kevin Menner, the Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team secured its sixth-straight victory with a 74-65 road decision over Cal State Monterey Bay Friday.

The Broncos improve to 10-6 overall and 7-5 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association, while the Otters fall to 5-12 overall and 3-10 through conference play.

CPP found itself down 35-31 at halftime but rallied for a 14-0 run during the early stages of the second period to take control of the contest. Tobias Jahn and Mitchel Anderson ended as the two other Bronco players in double figures, with 11 and 10 points respectively.

The Otters were led by an impressive performance from Davion Berry, the conference's leading scorer. Berry totaled 32 points on Friday, with a 14-for-15 night from the strike.

Led by Menner's 9-for-12 evening from the field, the Broncos combined to shoot 29-for-56 (51.8 percent) on Friday. The CPP bench put up a staggering 40 points, with Menner and Anderson carrying the majority of the load for the reserves. On defense, the Broncos held CSUMB to a 5-for-24 mark from beyond the arc, including 2-for-9 nights for both Berry and Darroll Phillips.

The Broncos faced a 41-33 deficit with 18:23 to play but a 14-0 run lasting roughly nine minutes put CPP up 49-43 with 8:52 left in regulation. A few minutes later, the Broncos stretched their lead to 10 points and maintained a decent margin for the rest of the contest.

The Otters managed to trim the advantage to four points at two different occasions in the final two minutes but CPP held off the hosts long enough to secure another tough road win.

Terrence Drisdom paced the Broncos' attack during the first half, efficiently registering eight points in eight minutes played through the opening period.

CPP's leading scorer so far this season, Dwayne Fells, went 4-for-12 from the field and put together a solid all-around night with eight points, nine rebounds and three assists.

Up next for the Broncos will be a Saturday night battle with third-place San Francisco State. Tipoff for that contest is set for 7:30 p.m.
