POMONA, Calif. – With the recent success of the Cal Poly Pomona basketball teams on the national stage, the university's name has spread across the country. The newest campaign project of the Broncos' athletics department will allow fans to spread their own name within Kellogg Gym.
Under the leadership of head coach
Greg Kamansky, the CPP men's basketball team captured the NCAA Division II National Championship in 2010. This year, the Broncos' women's squad and head coach
Danelle Bishop are aiming for similar success as CPP heads to the Elite Eight in Missouri for a quarterfinal matchup Tuesday.
Kellogg Gym, the home of the two teams, is the focus of a new seating campaign that will fuel the second stage of the university's renovation project. The first phase has been completed with the replacement of the gym floor and painting throughout the facility. The new seating will bring fans closer to the action, while providing a modern, comfortable seating experience.
In recognition of a donation, you can provide a personal legacy and/or recognize a special person in your life. The new chairback seating allows you to name a seat for five years. A small custom plate will be affixed to the seat you purchase with your name, that of a loved one or some other commemorative note. It is an opportunity to show off your Bronco pride!
“We are really excited about the new seating in Kellogg Gym,” Director of Development Brandon Raphael said. “Not only will our alumni, families and friends have a more comfortable experience at our games and events, but this will also give them an opportunity to recognize someone special in their life or have their own name honored within athletics and the campus community.”
In front of their home fans, the CPP men's and women's squads combined to go 26-3 during the 2010-11 season. The Bronco women currently hold a 13-game winning streak at Kellogg Gym. That's a credit to the passion and support of the program's fans. Now, you can commemorate that dedication with a long-lasting note at Kellogg Gym.
