SEASIDE, Calif. - The Cal Poly Pomona women's volleyball team continued its strong play Friday with a 3-1 road victory at Cal State Monterey Bay.

Five Bronco players notched double figures in kills with senior Courtney Alberi netting a team-high 15 in the category.

CPP improves to 11-11 overall and 8-9 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) play, while the Otters of CSUMB fall to 7-12 overall and 4-12 through league action.

The Broncos maintained an advantage early and capped off a 25-21 win in game one with a kill from Alberi off an assist from Jamie Kidd.

CPP once again rolled to a strong lead in game two, even staking a 17-13 lead in game two when Kristin McNeese lined in a kill with an assist from Kidd. Eventually though, the host Otters rebounded for a 25-23 victory with a kill from CSUMB's Tiffaney Riggs to close it out.

The two squads once again fought fiercely through a tough game three. The final points went the Broncos' way though, as Taylr Kreutziger fired in the decisive kill off a Katie Colin assist. Two points earlier, Alberi and Kidd picked up a key block.

Carrying quite of momentum on the road, the Broncos picked up an easier victory in game four. Freshman Lauren Jones came up with key kills late and she provided the decisive kill for the 25-15 win off an assist from Colin.

Up next, CPP will challenge Cal State East Bay on Saturday with a 7 p.m. match.
