SEASIDE, Calif. - Jennifer Rivera's early first-half goal held up for the Cal Poly Pomona women's soccer team, as the Broncos secured a 1-0 road win Friday at Cal State Monterey Bay.

CPP hasn't lost a match since Sept. 23 and with Friday's result, the Broncos now hold a 2-0-1 road record in 2011. Up next, CPP will host San Francisco State on Sunday at 2 p.m. The Gators of SFSU challenge Cal State East Bay Friday at 4:30 p.m. before traveling to Pomona.

Friday's sidelines featured a coaching storyline, as Broncos' head coach Isabelle Harvey went up against her former assistant Erin Reinke, now running the CSUMB program. Rivera's goal proved to be the highlight of the match, as the senior from Hacienda Heights, Calif., connected in the 17th minute for the contest's only score.

Through the defensive struggle, the two teams ended up with 12 shots apiece. CPP's Alison Sauve applied plenty of pressure on the offensive end, tallying seven shots with three landing on goal.

The game remained relatively clean in terms of fouls, as the squads combined for nine while the Broncos committed just two.

Ultimately, the CPP defense keeping the Otters off the scoreboard proved to be pivotal. Sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Rohman collected five saves for the Broncos en route to the shutout, marking the seventh of her career.

CPP returns to action on Sunday when it hosts SFSU at 2 p.m.
