ST. JOSEPH, Mo. –
Reyana Colson, a student who embodies academic and athletic excellence, earned selection as a Division II All-American, Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) officials announced Monday.

On Tuesday, in a vote of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), Colson earned a spot on the Daktronics D-II All-American First Team.

Colson joins 30 other Broncos in the history of Cal Poly Pomona women's basketball team to achieve the honor.

The 5-foot-6 senior guard has guided the Broncos to a 28-4 overall record this season, with the program set to make its first appearance in the Elite Eight since 2002. The announcement of the annual WBCA awards came at the Banquet of Champions held in St. Joseph, Mo., with quarterfinal games tipping off Tuesday.

Colson averages 21.5 points per game, a mark that ranks third nationally at the D-II level. During her four-year career as a Bronco, she's amassed 1,916 career points for fourth all-time in the CPP ranks. Earlier in March, Colson received California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Most Valuable Player and Daktronics West Region Player of the Year honors.

Last month, the Compton, Calif., native earned a spot on the Capital One NCAA Division II Academic All-America Team, as selected by the CoSIDA community. Starring in the classroom as well, Colson has compiled a grade point average of 3.68 while majoring in Accounting.

In CPP's most recent contest, a 68-61 victory against Grand Canyon on March 14 in the West Region title game, Colson collected 28 points to help the Broncos advance. For her efforts across the four-day regional tournament, she was named the event's Most Outstanding Player.

During a Jan. 18 win over Cal State San Bernardino, Colson secured career point No. 1,500. With four double-double performances as a senior during the 2010-11 campaign, she now has accomplished that feat on 20 different occasions through her career.
