CPP vs CSUS
TURLOCK, Calif. - Cal Poly Pomona's Mian Dingle broke a 36-36 tie Saturday at Cal State Stanislaus with a buzzer-beating three-pointer to end the first half.

That shot fell in the early stages of a career night for the sophomore from Pasadena and as a team, the Broncos put together a dominant second half to collect an 82-61 victory over the Warriors.

Dingle finished 24 points and seven rebounds to set new career highs in both categories. She finished 9-for-13 from the field and went 3-for-3 from beyond the arc.

It marked the first conference win of the season for CPP, a team now hold marks of 2-3 overall and 1-2 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA).

After shooting 31 percent in each of the last two games, the Broncos rebounded with an impressive 53.7-percent effort Saturday. CPP went 11-for-19 from beyond the arc as Jennifer Bryant delivered a spectacular 5-for-5 effort from three-point range.

Bryant and J.J. Judge scored 15 points apiece to join Dingle in double figures. Ashley Boggs turned in a stellar defensive performance and helped the Broncos hold the league's leading scorer, Erin Godde, to a 10-point performance.

CPP jumped out to a 5-0 lead to start the game after Rachel Hatch knocked down a three-pointer and Judge added a layup moments later.

The Broncos' largest lead of the first half arrived when Bryant fired in a trey at the 11:28 mark to push CPP's edge to 15-7. Stanislaus chipped away at the margin and the two squads entered four occasions of a tie score later in the half.

Dingle's buzzer-beating three to break the 36-36 tie gave the Broncos plenty of momentum going into halftime and the second period proved to be all about CPP.

On the opening possession, an offensive rebound by Hatch led to a layup from Judge. Jade Khuri tossed in a layup at the 14:55 mark to push the Broncos' edge to double digits, where it stayed for the remainder of the contest.

The final four minutes ended up being the most impressive as CPP held the Warriors scoreless in that span while putting together a 10-0 run. Dingle collected six of those 10 points to finish her career performance in fine fashion.

The Broncos will return home to host Humboldt State on Saturday, Dec. 8 in a 6:30 p.m. tipoff. It'll be part of a doubleheader at Kellogg Gym as the CPP men's basketball team will challenge Bethesda at 4:30 p.m.
