SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. - After dropping the first half of Saturday's doubleheader at Cal State San Bernardino, the Cal Poly Pomona baseball team rallied for a game two victory behind continued strong hitting from Joseph Eusebio and Mike Santora paired with another gem by right-hander Geoff Broussard.

The results settle CPP's marks at 19-12 overall and 12-12 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) while Coyotes stand at 14-11 overall and 11-9 in league play.

Eusebio and Santora collected seven hits apiece this week while extending their respective hit streaks to six games.

Broussard pitched a complete-game seven-inning performance in game two to tally his eighth win of 2012.

The Broncos will return to action on Thursday with a 3 p.m. home game against San Francisco State.

Game One: Coyotes 7, Broncos 2
The host Coyotes got a stellar outing from game three starter Bryant Hollingsworth, who 7.2 innings while allowing five hits and two walks. The senior right-hander racked up with eight strikeouts as all of them came on CPP hitters looking, rather than swinging.

Santora and Eusebio provided the offense for the Broncos, combining for all five visitor hits. Santora tallied three singles and scored twice as Eusebio delivered a double and a triple for the runs batted in.

CSUSB first baseman Brandon Day put the Coyotes on the board with a two-run homer over the centerfield fence in the first. Catcher Paul Eshleman came through with a two-run double in the third to extend CSUSB's edge to 5-0.

The Broncos used six different pitchers in the game with Allen Rodarte and J.J. Franklin turning in solid relief performances. Left-handed starter Ryan Dunn suffered the loss for CPP after last 2.1 innings and giving up five runs.

Game Two: Broncos 5, Coyotes 0
The Broncos' offense struck first in the second half of the doubleheader, starting with a first-inning RBI hit from Eusebio. In that same frame, senior first baseman Chris Miller delivered another score with a safety squeeze bunt to bring in teammate Jenzen Torres.

Broussard, the staff ace and undefeated in 2012, worked out of jams in the second and third innings, forcing the Coyotes to leave two runners on base in each occasion. The senior right-hander settled in nicely, recording 10-straight outs between the third and sixth frames.

Sophomore designated hitter Humberto Tovalin delivered an RBI double off the rightfield fence in the top of the sixth, giving Broussard a bit more run support while bumping the visitor's advantage to 3-0. The Broncos got two more runs in the top of the seventh, thanks in part to three hit batters and a CSUSB error.

Broussard collected two strikeouts in the ninth for a 1-2-3 inning, wrapping up his eighth win in as many starts. The Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., native continues to rank second nationally in victories at the Division II level.
