Box Score | LA JOLLA, Calif. - The powers of 10 is a math term but this might be something a bit more magical.

The Broncos drained 10 three-pointers Saturday and now they've got a 10-game winning streak and a 10-0 record on the road.

Whether it's physical toughness in the paint Friday in San Bernardino or unstoppable three-point shooting Saturday in La Jolla, the Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team continues to adjust its style of play while stacking up one win after another.

The first-place Broncos defeated UC San Diego at RIMAC Arena Saturday, 73-50, to extend their winning streak to 10 games and keep their undefeated road record intact at 10-0. The CPP offense Saturday featured a season-high 10 three-pointers, including four from junior guard DeRonn Scott.

For the second-straight game, five Broncos finished in double figures. Scott led the way with 17 points while Mitchel Anderson added 14. Barry Bell proved to be the key distributor as he racked up a season-high seven assists.

CPP, 19-1 overall and 15-1 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), is ranked fourth nationally and has been featured in the Division II Top 25 poll for a school-record 11-straight weeks.

The 10-game winning streak is the longest since the Broncos reeled off 15-consecutive victories during the 2009-10 season. Trailing CPP in second place for the CCAA is Cal State San Bernardino at 13-3.

With another successful two-win week, the Broncos have clinched a spot in the CCAA Tournament and a first-round home game on Tuesday, March 5. The semifinal and final rounds of the event will be held at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario on March 8 and March 9.

The Broncos steadily built up a sizeable advantage in the first half Saturday with spectacular shooting from beyond the arc. Four minutes into the contest, CPP held a 9-5 edge.

A three-pointer from Scott paired with a pair of baskets from Jordan Faison helped fuel a 9-0 run for the Broncos, who took an 18-5 lead following two free throws by Anderson.

UCSD showed its resiliency late in the half, putting a 9-0 run together to cut the margin down to two after a James McCann layup at the 1:11 mark. Scott tallied the last points of the period, draining another trey to give CPP a 35-30 advantage heading into the break. The Broncos finished with seven three-pointers through the first 20 minutes of play.

The visiting CPP squad quickly regained its momentum with a 12-0 run to start the second half. A fadeaway three-pointer by Anderson at the top of the arc pushed the Broncos' commanding lead to 47-30.

The long-distance shots continued to fall for CPP as Scott hit his fourth triple at the 13:01 to stretch the visitors' lead to 20 and force a timeout from the Tritons.

The Broncos kept the intensity up until the final buzzer and the visitors finished with a 29-24 edge in rebounding while shooting 50 percent from the field. CPP ended up 15-for-18 at the free throw line and Mohamed Fall went a perfect 5-for-5 at the charity stripe.
