Box Score | POMONA, Calif. - The fifth-ranked Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team picked up its first March win of 2013 and the conference regular season champion Broncos are aiming for it to be the first of many victories this month.

CPP topped Cal State Dominguez Hills Friday on Senior Night, 71-59, to finish the regular season at 24-2 overall and 20-2 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). With the win over the Toros, the Broncos become just one of four teams in conference history to reach the 20-win mark through league play.

The postseason will begin Tuesday for top-seeded CPP with a 7 p.m. home matchup at Kellogg Gym against eighth-seeded Sonoma State in the first round of the CCAA Tournament.

The semifinal and final rounds of the tournament will be held at the Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario on March 8 and March 9. To view the CCAA Tournament Central page, click here.

Friday's regular season finale featured plenty of physical play as the squads combined for 42 personal fouls, 25 of which went to the Toros.

The Broncos kept their compsure and shooting rhythm, knocking down 57.1 percent of their shot attempts. Three CPP players scored in double figures, including Mitchel Anderson with a game-high 14 points.

DeRonn Scott provided 13 points off the bench for the Broncos while Terrence Drisdom added 12 points of his own in 32 minutes of action. Mohamed Fall went a perfect 4-for-4 from the field to collect nine points.

Before the game, CPP honored its two senior student-athletes: Anderson and Fall. The pair of fourth-year players will get to play at Kellogg Gym at least one more time with the top-seeded Broncos set to host Sonoma Tuesday.

CPP and the Toros played even through the first half and Dominguez managed to take a 20-15 lead around the midway point of the period after a Pierson Williams three-pointer. The Broncos put together an 8-0 run later in the half - with that stretch featuring an old-school three-point play from Drisdom and a dunk by Anderson - and the host squad took a 34-31 edge into halftime.

As soon as the second half starter, CPP began to steal the show. The Broncos started the closing period on a 21-6 run with key highlights in that span including a Barry Bell fastbreak dunk and a Bryce Brady three-pointer from the left side in front of the CPP bench.

Now the new season begins and the Broncos are the top seed in the CCAA Tournament.
