HAGEN, Germany – In his fifth year as a professional basketball star overseas, Cal Poly Pomona alum Larry Gordon has been selected to the German BBL All-Star Team, league officials announced in December.

The All-Star game will be held on Saturday, Jan. 18, in Bonn, Germany. The event will start at 11:15 a.m. Pacific Time and live coverage online is available here.

After starting his pro career in Holland, Gordon is now in his second season with the Phoenix Hagen. In the 2013-14 campaign, he leads the league in rebounding with 7.6 boards per game while ranking sixth in scoring average.

Gordon brought that same all-around play to CPP, where he was a student-athlete from 2005 through 2009. During that time, he tallied more than 1,500 points, 900 rebounds, 125 steals and 45 blocks. He was named the Most Valuable Player of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) and was a four-time All-CCAA performer.

To top things off, Gordon was named a 2009 All-American after leading the Broncos to the NCAA Division II National Championship game. A West Covina native, Gordon trains at CPP's Kellogg Gym during the summer months.

Gordon is not the only former Bronco to be playing professional basketball. The long list includes (CPP years in parentheses):

Also helped the Philippine national team, Sinag Pilipinas, capture the gold medal at the 27th Southeast Asian Games last month.
Tobias Jahn (2007-11): Member of the Broncos' 2010 national team. Competing for Hanau in the German professional league. He's played in 12 games this season and he's averaging 9.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per game.
