Box Score | POMONA, Calif. - Witnessing history is always possible at Kellogg Gym and on Thursday, basketball fans were treated to a memorable performance from the Cal Poly Pomona defense.
The Broncos cruised to a 56-30 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills as the Toros' point total was the lowest for a CPP opponent since 1979. Already leading the nation in defense, the Broncos dropped their season average of points allowed from 57.4 to 56.2 in a single game.
With the win, CPP (17-2) climbs a half-game above Cal State San Bernardino (16-2) atop the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) standings. The Coyotes will host Sonoma State on Friday night.
Sophomore

CPP scored the first six points of Thursday's game, taking a 6-0 lead to the 15:20 mark as the Toros missed their first seven shot attempts. The Broncos' advantage widened to seven about midway through the opening half but Dominguez pulled it back to one heading into the break.
