Box Score | POMONA, Calif. – In front of a record-setting sellout crowd at Kellogg Gym Saturday, the 18th-ranked Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball treated the 2,757 fans to a 73-53 rout of Cal State East Bay.

The victory capped off an amazing Homecoming and Family Weekend on the Cal Poly Pomona campus. The attendance total of 2,757 is the biggest crowd for a men's basketball game in university history.

The record-setting crowd included many Bronco Hall of Fame members, who returned to campus for Friday's Evening of Champions before getting recognized once again at the halftime intermissions of both basketball games Saturday.

With the win, CPP men's basketball moved back into a tie for first place in the conference standings with Cal State San Bernardino. The Broncos have six regular season games left on the schedule.

Sophomore Jordan Faison provided a lift for the CPP offense Saturday as he collected 21 points, his second-highest total so far this season. He joined teammate Daniel Rodriguez with eight boards apiece as the Broncos outrebounded East Bay, 40-34.

With plenty of crowd support, the CPP defense stayed active throughout the entire game. The Broncos totaled eight blocks as Barry Bell and Francois Tchoyi set career bests with three blocks apiece.

The raucous crowd got plenty loud after each of CPP's six dunks. Faison threw down three slams and DeRonn Scott delivered an exciting dunk on a fastbreak transition in the second half. One of Faison's slams capped off a 13-0 run for the Broncos as that spurt turned an early 12-10 deficit into a double-digit lead.

CPP took a 34-18 advantage into the break and never looked back. Scott joined Faison in double figures with 17 points and the senior guard also added six assists as a catalyst for the Broncos' attack.

Saturday's game provided an opportunity for CPP to bounce back from Thursday's narrow loss to Cal State Monterey Bay and the Broncos certainly achieved that Saturday. CPP limited the Pioneers to a 6-for-30 effort from the field in the first half.

At halftime, the Broncos' Associated Students Inc. (ASI) leadership announced the 2014 Homecoming King and Queen as track and field's Brian Crane and volleyball's Jessica Doerner.

Up next for CPP basketball will be a trip to Northern California. The Broncos take on Sonoma State Friday in Rohnert Park.
