Cal Poly Pomona Ends Regular Season with Strong Marks

LA JOLLA, Calif. - The Cal Poly Pomona men's track and field team wrapped up the regular season Saturday at the Triton Invitational in La Jolla.

Jacob Cummings put together an impressive performance in the 110-meter hurdles, registering a 2014 best of 15.40 on Saturday. 

Justin Ellerbee's undefeated streak came to an end Saturday but he still took third place with a stellar mark of 16-4.75. Long Beach State's Connor Rouse captured first in that event while Ellerbee's teammate, Austin Allen, finished fourth with a matching height of 16-4.75.

The Broncos' prowess in the pole vault also extended to the No. 5 finisher, which was Allen Black. He vaulted to a 15-5 mark.

Mitchell Sagely excelled in the long jump Saturday, recording a distance of 22-1.75 to place second in his flight. 

The Broncos will return to UCSD next week for the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Championships. The conference meet takes place Thursday through Saturday, May 1 to May 3.
