9/6/2014 9:37:00 PM

Box Score | ST. GEORGE, Utah – While the Cal Poly Pomona women's soccer team showcased a strong offense at home Thursday, the fortunes were reversed Saturday as the Broncos suffered a 3-0 loss at Dixie State.

The two teams combined for 33 shots with the Red Storm holding a slim 18-15 advantage. CPP attempted six corner kicks as opposed to DSC's two.

With the result, the Broncos' overall record settles at 1-1 while the Red Storm improves to 1-0-1.

Dixie made the most of its chances. The host squad broke through for an early score in the 13th minute. Jennifer Mason passed it on to Jasmine Arollo, who dribbled past a defender and lined it to the back of the net.

The 1-0 score held up to halftime but the Red Storm continued to successfully execute their offensive game plan in the second period. At the 52:14 mark, Jennifer Mason tapped in a cross that came off a corner kick. In the 78th minute, Mason struck for another score via a corner kick.

DSC put 11 shots on goal and Broncos' freshman goalkeeper Ricki Ives made eight saves. Five of CPP's 15 shots landed on target and first-year Daisy Duran collected a team-high three shots.

The Broncos will continue non-conference play on Tuesday with a 4 p.m. home match against Antelope Valley.
