POMONA, Calif. – After a tough road loss on Saturday at Cal Baptist, the Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team will look to regain its momentum on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. home game against Antelope Valley.
It will mark the home opener for the Broncos at Kellogg Arena. Last year, CPP put together a home record of 12-2.
So far this season, the Broncos own a 1-2 overall mark while Tuesday's opponent – Antelope Valley – has a 1-3 record while competing out of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). The Pioneers are led by first-year head coach BJ Porter, who is an Azusa Pacific alum.
In the team's most recent action against Division I Sacramento State, Franky Teran led Antelope Valley in scoring with 15 points.
For CPP, junior
Jeremy Dennis has provided plenty of highlights on offense. He has averaged 14.7 points per game with seven rebounds per contest. Sophomore guard
Jordan Ogundiran has been consistent as well, posting a scoring average of 12.7 while leading the team in assist to turnover ratio (6.0).
Freshman
William Christmas has delivered an immediate impact so far, scoring 11 points per game with a shooting percentage of 60.9.
Starting with Tuesday's home game against Antelope Valley, the Broncos will play five of their next six contests at Kellogg Arena. The California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) schedule begins Tuesday, Nov. 29 when CPP hosts UC San Diego as part of a doubleheader with the women's basketball program.
