Broncos Look to Bounce Back, Host Cal State Dominguez Hills and Los Angeles

Pomona – The Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball returns home to face Cal State Dominguez Hills and Cal State Los Angeles in California Collegiate Athletic Association play tied for first in their conference.

Last Week: The Broncos (12-3, 9-2 CCAA) split their games, edging out Humboldt State 73-70 before falling to Chico State 76-65 on the road. Riley Schaefer totaled 18 points against the Jacks and Jordan Ogundiran scored 17 points against the Wildcats.
 
By the Numbers: Ogundiran leads the team in scoring and assists, averaging 15.6 points per game and 4.4 assists per a game which ranks him third and fourth respectively in the CCAA. William Christmas leads the team in rebounding with 6.9 rebounds a game which ranks him ninth in the CCAA. The Broncos are the number one scoring defense in the conference, holding teams to an average of 61.7 points a game. In their previous meeting against the Toros, the Broncos won 77-71 on the road thanks to a 28-point performance by Ogundiran. Last season against the Golden Eagles, the Broncos split their two meetings losing on the road 71-59 and winning at home 67-64.
 
Toro Report: Dominguez Hills (8-11, 5-7 CCAA) is coming of two home losses, including a 16-point loss to Sonoma State. The Toro offense averages 70.1 points per game on 43 percent shooting from the field. Jonathan Nichols leads the team in scoring, averaging 13.7 points a game.  Malcolm Johnson ranks third in the CCAA in average rebounds per game with 8.8. The Toros struggled to protect the ball in their last matchup with the Broncos, giving up 20 points off of turnovers.
 
Golden Eagle Report: CSULA (7-10, 3-9 CCAA) has struggled this season, losing nine of their last 10 games. The Golden Eagles strength is their offense as they average 77 points a game which is third in the CCAA. They also force turnovers more than any other team in the CCAA, however, they struggle defensively allowing the second highest points per game in the conference at 77.4. Garrett Carter leads the offense, scoring 15.4 points a game which is sixth in the conference.
