Top-Seeded Broncos Open CCAA Tournament at Home Against Dominguez Hills

Pomona – The top seeded Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team host eighth-seed Cal State Dominguez Hills in the first round off the California Collegiate Athletic Association tournament at Kellogg Arena on Tuesday, Feb. 27.

Last Week: The Broncos (20-5, 17-4 CCAA) scored a season high in an 89-70 win against rival Cal State San Bernardino. CPP closed out the regular season with a win while earning the outright CCAA Championship title for the first time since 2012 and second since 1947. Jordan Ogundiran scored 23 points on 50 percent shooting to lead his team against the Coyotes.
 
By the Numbers: The Broncos are the best team in the conference backed by stellar defensive play. They hold teams to an average of just over 61 points a game on 38 percent shooting from the floor and 30 percent from beyond the arc. Ogundiran leads the team in scoring and assists, averaging 14.6 points per game and 4.2 assists per a game which ranks him eighth and fourth respectively in the CCAA. Both matchups this season against the Toros resulted in Bronco victories.
 
Toro Report: Dominguez Hills (13-16, 10-12 CCAA) is coming of a tough night defensively, allowing 93 points to Cal State San Marcos. The Toro offense averages 73.1 points per game on 43 percent shooting from the field. In their previous matches with CPP, the Toros will need to protect the ball as they turned the ball over a combined total of 36 times in both games.
