OFFICIAL CCAA RELEASE

CHICO, Calif. –
Cal Poly Pomona senior forward Jimmie Villalobos has been named the 2019 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year, highlighting Thursday's release of the annual CCAA All-Conference Team.

Villalobos, along with senior Jason Ramos and junior Eduardo Faria captured All-CCAA First Team honors while senior Cyro Oliveira and junior Jordan Aldama garnered All-CCAA Second Team accolades.

The league-leader in goals this season, Villalobos is third in all of NCAA Division II in the scoring category, netting a career-best 17 goals with six assists (40 points) in 17 matches.  The native of Oasis (Calif.) has scored in 12 of those 17 matches, including a pair of hat tricks.  In his three-year career at CPP, he is third all-time in goals (34) and points (79).  This is three straight All-CCAA First Team selections for Villalobos in his three-year CPP career.

It is the fifth time in nine years that the Broncos have featured the conference's top offensive player as Villalobos follows in the footsteps of former CPP standouts and CCAA Offensive MVP's Luis Gonzalez (2011), Christian Gonzalez Diaz (2014, 2015) and Sergi Monso (2017).

Faria, from Porto Alegre, Brazil, is the Broncos' second-leading scorer this season with eight goals, adding four assists.  Of the eight goals, five have been game-winners, which is the seventh-most in the nation in 2019.  It is the second All-CCAA honor for Faria, who earned a Honorable Mention last season.

Ramos, from Montebello (Calif.), earns his first-career All-Conference award as the anchor of a defense that has only allowed seven goals in 12 matches.

Oliveira, a native of Bauru, Brazil, is a three-time All-CCAA award winner as he tied for the third-most goals on the team with five, but is also ranked third in the nation in assists per game with 0.69 after totaling nine in 13 matches this season.

Aldama, who hails from Gardena (Calif.), has played and started in eight of the 12 conference games for CPP this season, boasting a 7-1-0 mark as the goalkeeper of record, allowing four goals (a 0.51 GAA) and posting three shutouts.

Cal Poly Pomona (11-4-2 overall), which finished second in the CCAA standings this season with a 10-1-1 record, is set to take on No. 3 seed UC San Diego in the CCAA Tournament semifinals Friday at 11:00 am in La Jolla.  In the most recent release of the official NCAA Division II West Region rankings, the Broncos moved up to No. 7 in the Super Region 4 poll ahead of Monday's NCAA selection show that will name 10 qualifying teams from each of the four Super Regions to compete in the 2019 NCAA Division II Championship Tournament.
