POMONA -- Cal Poly Pomona senior Jimmie Villalobos has been selected as the 2019 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) Men's Soccer West Region Player of the Year, highlighting Wednesday's release of the D2 CCA Men's Soccer All-West Region Team.

Senior Cyro Oliveira and junior Eduardo Faria, along with Villalobos, were also voted to the All-West Region First Team.

Villalobos becomes the second CPP men's soccer player in program history to receive the D2 CCA West Region's highest award as he continues to produce incredible numbers this season.  The senior from Oasis, Calif., who was also named the CCAA's Most Valuable Offensive Player this year, is the nation's second-leading goal scorer in 2019, netting a career-best 18 goals in 19 contests.  He is also third in all of Division II in points with 42.  He joins former CPP standout Christian Gonzalez Diaz as the only Broncos picked as the region's MVP.

Oliveira, a native of Bauru, Brazil, is third in the nation in assists per game, as he has assisted on 10 goals in 15 matches played this season.  He is also the team's third-leading goal scorer with six behind Faria (Porto Alegre, Brazil), who has scored eight goals in 19 games.

All three CPP men's soccer student-athletes will now advance to the D2 CCA All-America ballot.  Villalobos will also be one of eight candidates around the country up for the Division II Ron Lenz National Player of the Year award. The 2019 D2 CCA Men's Soccer All-America Team will be announced on the eve of the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship Semifinals on Dec. 11.

The D2 CCA All-Region and All-America Teams are nominated and voted on by the Sports Information Directors of NCAA Division II institutions that sponsor men's soccer.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
