KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced Monday that Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball junior
William Christmas has been named to the 2019 NABC Coaches' Division II All-District First Team team for the West Region.
For Christmas, it is his second All-Region honor for 2018-19; he was a Second Team All-West Region selection in the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) awards program that was announced prior to the NCAA Division II West Region Tournament a couple weeks ago. The three-time All-CCAA honoree was also named to the NABC All-District Team as a sophomore last season.
Christmas, an Oceanside (Calif.) native, finished the season as the leading scorer in the conference at 15.4 points per game, many of which came from the free throw line. For that, he led the CCAA and was sixth in the region in free throws made with 136. He also finished fifth in the conference in total steals (45) and steals per game (1.6) and was eighth in assists per game (3.3).
Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division II, a total of 88 student-athletes were named to the Division II All-District Teams.
