CHICO, Calif. -- Cal Poly Pomona women's track and field senior Casey Monoszlay has been selected as the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the week of April 8-14, it was announced by the conference office Tuesday.

Monoszlay, from Chino Hills, Calif., continues to be one of the most dominating distance runners in all of Division II outdoor track and field this season as she set her third NCAA provisional-qualifying mark of 2019 this past weekend at the Triton Invitational in La Jolla, this time in the 800 Meters, crossing the line in 2:10.49, good for fourth all-time in CPP history.  It currently leads the CCAA, is fourth in the West Region and 11th in Division II.

Monoszlay also holds provisional marks in the 1500 Meters and the 5000 Meters this spring; she leads the West and is eighth in the nation in the 1500 with a time of 4:27.68, and also leads the West and is sixth in Division II in the 5000 with a time of 16:54.12.

This is the first CCAA weekly honor for Monoszlay.  It is also the first for a Cal Poly Pomona women's track athlete since former Bronco Calene Morris earned the honor back in 2017 for the week of March 6-12.  Teammate Hannah Stueve was the most recent CPP student-athlete to snag top weekly honors by the conference, but did so on the Field side last spring for the week of Feb. 17-25.

Cal Poly Pomona will turn its focus on the Bryan Clay Invitational, hosted by Azusa Pacific this upcoming Wednesday through Friday.
