2021 All-CCAA Women's Soccer Team

POMONA --
Senior forward Taylor Scott was named to the All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women's Soccer Second Team, highlighting the annual release of the CCAA's postseason awards.

In addition to Scott being selected to the Second Team, senior goalkeeper Sydney Williams, graduate student forward Emma Barrow, junior midfielder Phoebe Amaro, senior midfielder Alyssa Carthan and senior defender Amanda Faber all earned an Honorable Mention.

Scott wrapped up a stellar career with the Broncos, scoring five goals and adding five assists this season.  For her career, she finished with 19 goals and 11 assists.  Ten of her 19 goals were game-winners, which is tied for third all-time in CPP women's soccer history in that category.

Williams will also see her name in the record book for years to come, as she posted the third-best single-season goals against average in program history this year with a 0.58.  She already has the program record for best single-season GAA (0.53) which was set in 2019.  Williams will also leave CPP as the record holder for best career goals against average of 0.63, and tallied the third-most shutouts in program history with 22.

Barrow led the Broncos in scoring this year with six goals, adding one assist in her final collegiate season.  Amaro, Carthan and Faber were instrumental on defense in CPP having the fourth-best goals against average in the CCAA this year at 0.67.

Chico State's Susanna Garcia was named Offensive Player of the Year and Sonoma State Julia Pritchard earned Defensive Player of the Year honors to highlight the list of All-CCAA selections and special award winners for the 2021 season.

Susanna Garcia tied for the CCAA lead in both goals (7) and points (17), and was tied for sixth in assists (4). The junior forward had a flair for the dramatic all season as six of her seven goals gave Chico State the lead. Her four game-winning goals ranked her 28th in NCAA Division II. She helped the Wildcats rank second in the conference in goals per match and earn the No. 2 seed in the CCAA Women's Soccer Tournament. This is the first all-conference selection for the 2018 CCAA Freshman of the Year.

Julia Pritchard anchored the conference's best defensive unit. The junior was a crucial asset in allowing Sonoma State to lead the league and rank 11th in the country with just .462 goals allowed per match. The Seawolves shutout their opponent in 11 of its 17 matches and earned their second consecutive CCAA regular season title. She also added three goals and four assists. This is Pritchard's second straight All-CCAA selection.

Amanda Leal, from Stanislaus State, was named the CCAA Goalkeeper of the Year. The graduate transfer from Cal State LA led the CCAA in saves (97), save percentage (.907), and goals against average (.529). Her 12 shutouts paced the league and were the top mark in all of NCAA Division II. She finished top 30 nationally in save percentage (fifth), goals against average (18th), minutes played (18th), and saves (30th).

Cal State Monterey Bay's Mitsy Gonzalez was named the CCAA Newcomer of the Year. The sophomore started all 17 matches in the midfield for the Otters. She registered two goals, including the game-winner against Cal State LA.

Emma Hofmann picked up Freshman of the Year honors for Chico State. The goalkeeper from Folsom, Calif., was second in the CCAA in goals against average (.561), save percentage (.867), and shutouts (10). Those numbers also transferred to the national stage, where she ranked 22nd in save percentage and goals against average and seventh in shutouts. Hofmann is only the second CCAA Freshman of the Year selection in Chico State's history, joining Susanna Garcia.

San Francisco State's John DeMartini earned Coach of the Year honors after leading the Gators to the No. 4 seed in the CCAA Women's Soccer Tournament. SFSU was picked to finish last in the conference in the league's preseason poll after winning just two matches in 2019, but the Gators continued to climb the standings all year. They turned around a slow start in non-conference matches and went 6-3-2 in the CCAA. This was DeMartini's first year as the head coach of the Gators.

Cal Poly Pomona finished the season with an 8-6-3 overall record, and placed in a tie for seventh place in the CCAA at 4-4-3.
