1/29/2022 9:41:00 PM

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – For the second week in a row, Cal Poly Pomona saw records broken in Albuquerque, N.M., at the New Mexico Team Open.

Ayana Fields set two new indoor program records, running the 60-meter in 7.59 seconds and the 400m in 54.95 seconds. Her 60m prelim time sent her to the finals, while her 400m time was the second-fastest time of the day, beating out NCAA Division I competition.

After setting the triple jump record last week, Jade DeSouza bettered her mark with a jump of 12.30m on her second attempt.

Ana Tovi kept the records coming with a throw of 13.34m in the shot put, taking 10th overall. Teme Fanguna posted the fifth-best throw in CPP history with an 11.30m.

Earlier in the day, Keiana Turner hurled a 16.10m in the weight throw, setting a new Bronco program record. She threw the weight almost a whole meter further than her previous best mark.

Keiana Hamm matched her previous best mark with a 1.57m in the high jump, hitting the height on her third try.

Angelina Camello led the Broncos with a time of 25.45 seconds in the unseeded 200m race, followed by Elisha Salazar in 26.15 and Analexis Glaude in 26.45.  Camello also finished the 60m in 7.82 seconds, which beats out her previous personal record time and sits third all-time for the Broncos.

Glaude, Salazar, Camello and Fields teamed up for the 4x400m and took third with a time of 3:53.76.

The Broncos take a week off and return to action at The Big Meet, a two-day event in Allendale, Mich., before NCAA Indoor Nationals the next month.
