POMONA – The Cal Poly Pomona Broncos were seeded third in the CCAA tournament and hosted the #6 seed Sonoma State Seawolves for the first round of the tournament. The game went into double-overtime, and the Seawolves advanced on Penalty Kicks.
The game ended in a 0-0 tie in double-overtime. On the penalty kick shootout, the Seawolves advanced on 7 goals made against the Broncos six goals. The Broncos overall record now stands at 11-2-6.
The Broncos took 29 shots on the game against SSU's nine shots. Goalkeeper

Matt O'Sullivan. "We've dominated the possession, territory and most importantly the chances to score. We simply must learn to take our opportunities and we must improve in both boxes if we want to be the team we know we can be."
With the loss, the Broncos will await their NCAA postseason fate as the 2022 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship Tournament field will be announced via a live selection show at NCAA.com Monday November 7th at 3:00 pm. CPP entered the week ranked at No. 3 in the West Region and will need to remain in the Top 6 in order to qualify for the NCAA tournament for the sixth consecutive year.
