ALLENDALE, Mich. -- Ayana Fields continued to torch the indoor competition this winter season, winning both the 60 meter dash and the 200 meter dash at The Big Meet on Saturday at Grand Valley State, wrapping up a successful weekend in Michigan for Cal Poly Pomona.
On Saturday, Fields broke her own school record in the 200m, crossing the line in 24.08, which leads all of NCAA Division II by four one-hundredths of a second. In fact, in Saturday's 200m race, she finished a full second ahead of the runner-up Izabelle Peterson from Northern Michigan. Fields also ran a 7.60 in the 60m on Saturday, winning the race by 0.12 and setting a provisional-qualifying mark in that event.
With less than a month until the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, Fields holds three provisional-qualifying marks, one in the 60m, one in the 200m and another in the 400m; she leads Division II in both the 200m and 400m.

Also setting a provisional-qualifying mark on Saturday was the the 4x400 relay team of
Analexis Glaude,
Elisha Salazar,
Angelina Camello and Fields, running a 3:51.88 to win the event, a full seven seconds ahead of runner-up Grand Valley State.
In the 200m race,
Jaelyn Thomas set a personal record, running a 25.70 and placing fourth in the event, followed by Camello in fifth place with a mark of 25.74. In the 400m event, both Glaude (58.50) and Salazar (58.86) set personal-bests, placing eighth and 14th, respectively.
Susie Fowler set a PR in the 60 meter Hurdles, running a 9.33 to finish 15th overall.
In the Long Jump,
Natalie Lin scored a PR with a leap of 5.00m. In the Shot Put,
Demisha Price snagged a personal-best with a heave of 12.39m. In the Weight Throw,
Keiana Turner broke her own school record with a toss of 16.16m.
Saturday was the final indoor meet of the regular season ahead of the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships in Pittsburg, Kansas on Mar. 11-12.
