NCAA REGIONAL RANKINGS
INDIANAPOLIS -- After not appearing in the first set of rankings two weeks ago, then appearing at No. 10 last week, the Cal Poly Pomona men's basketball team has jumped to No. 7 in the last of three official NCAA Division II Men's Basketball West Region rankings released by the NCAA.
Should the Broncos (13-8) maintain their ranking as one of the Top 8 teams in the West Region when the 64-team NCAA tournament field is announced on Sunday, CPP will have qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the 17th time in program history, and for the 14th time under the leadership of 22nd-year head coach
Greg Kamansky. It would also be the program's fourth straight NCAA postseason appearance, and the eighth in the last nine seasons.
The announcement of the 2022 NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship Tournament will come via a live selection show at NCAA.com on Sunday at 7:30 pm.
At 18-3 overall, Chico State topped the final update of the West Region poll, followed by Cal State San Bernardino (20-2) at No. 2 ahead of Cal State San Marcos (17-4) at No. 3. Point Loma (18-8) checks in at No. 4, Saint Martin's (14-8) at No. 5, and Central Washington (12-8) at No. 6 ahead of CPP at No. 7, while Azusa Pacific (17-8) sits at No. 8. On the outside looking in, Northwest Nazarene (10-8) comes in at No. 9 and Cal State Monterey Bay (13-8) at No. 10.
