CPP Posts Wins Across Three Different Meets

SAN FRANCISCO – Cal Poly Pomona split time at three different events in the Bay Area.
 
At the Stanford Invite, hosted by Stanford University, Ayana Fields won the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.89 seconds, beating out multiple NCAA Division I athletes. Elisha Salazar posted a time of 57.81 seconds and Analexis Glaude clocked in a 58.50.
 
Fields also finished third overall in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.83 seconds, once again beating out multiple NCAA Division I athletes. Salazar clocked in at 25.45 seconds, followed by Jaelyn Thomas at 25.56 seconds.
 
Sarah Lindenthal and Keiana Hamm finished back-to-back in the high jump. Lindenthal took seventh with a mark of 1.55 meters, while Hamm followed in 1.50 meters.
 
Skyy Vang posted a 3.00-meter mark in the pole vault. Ehinlaiye posted a 5.10-meter mark in the long jump, followed by Imani Williams in 5.48 meters and Natalie Lin in 4.94 meters. Lin also posted an 11.13-meter triple jump to finish in the top-10.
 
Keiana Turner won the hammer throw (collegiate division) with a personal-best throw of 50.71 meters, while Avia Bateman took fifth with a personal-best mark of 46.97 meters. Turner moves into third on the Broncos' all-time record list, while Bateman holds at sixth all-time.
 
Demisha Price won the collegiate division shot put with a throw of 12.96 meters, followed by Teme Fanguna's fourth-place throw of 12.29 meters. Turner posted a throw of 11.74 meters and Taina Livai followed at 11.50 meters.
 
Both Bronco relay teams took fourth. The 4x100 team finished with a time of 46.90 seconds, while the 4x400 team posted a time of 3:47.98.
 
At the Chabot Invite hosted by Chabot College, Ana Tovi grabbed first in the shot put with a throw of 13.99 meters, although not her best throw this year. Price took third with a 12.77-meter toss, while Turner and Ashley McBean rounded out the rest of the Broncos with respective throws of 10.80 and 10.79 meters.
 
Tovi also won the discus with an NCAA Division II provision mark, posting a season-best 49.47-meter throw, inching closer to her Bronco record of 50.54 meters that she set in 2019. McBean took third with a 39.24m mark, while Turner finished in sixth (36.36m) and Price followed with a mark of 31.24 meters.
 
The Broncos went 1-2-3 in the hammer, led by Avia Bateman's personal-best throw of 46.17 meters, bettering her previous best by over half a meter. Turner followed with a 45.93-meter toss and Price posted a mark of 44.87 meters for third. Tovi grabbed seventh with a 42.75m mark and McBean followed with a 39.24m throw.
 
McBean also competed in the javelin and took seventh overall with a mark of 31.07 meters.
 
At the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, hosted by San Francisco State, Arissa Hatcher finished the 800-meter race in 2:14.76 seconds to take 13th overall and move into the Broncos' top-10 list. Glaude followed in 2:19.70 and Skyler Madrid clocked in at 2:22.70.
 
Angie Arellano led two Broncos in the 5K with a time of 18:33.91, while Lauren Jauregui finished in 18:39.55.  
 
The Broncos next head to the Triton Invitational next weekend at UC San Diego.
