CARSON, Calif. – Daisy Duke posted double-digit kills for the 32nd time in her career, leading the No. 23-ranked Cal Poly Pomona volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep (25-23, 25-23, 25-16) over host Cal State Dominguez Hills Friday evening at the Torodome in Carson.
The nationally-ranked Broncos have won 11 consecutive matches, rising to 11-1 overall and 5-0 in the CCAA. The Toros fell to 3-9 (1-4 CCAA).
While the match featured 19 ties and seven lead changes, most of them came in the opening set (11 ties, 5 lead changes). In fact, CSUDH held a 20-17 lead late in the frame, but CPP came roaring back to win 25-23, before earning 25-23 and 25-16 wins in the final two sets to clinch the sweep.
Duke led the Broncos with 13 kills and a .345 hitting percentage, chipping in with nine digs on defense.
Madison Novak added nine kills and hit .353 while
Kaitlan Tucker added eight kills with a .500 clip to go along with four blocks (two solo).
Caitie Mueller handed out 24 assists, 11 digs and three kills from the setting position.
Mackenzie Sullivan tallied a match-high 13 digs.
As a team, CPP hit .283 while holding CSUDH to just .080. The Toros' Ava Hurry matched Duke with 13 kills on the other side of the net.
Cal Poly Pomona will head to Los Angeles Saturday afternoon to face a tough test in Cal State LA (10-3, 5-0 CCAA), which will also bring an unblemished conference record into the tilt after knocking off perennial powerhouse Cal State San Bernardino at home on Friday in four sets. First serve from University Gym on the CSULA campus is set for 3:00 pm.

Traci Dahl moves to 44-22 in her fourth year (third season) at Cal Poly Pomona, including 34-6 the last two seasons … The Broncos have opened their season with an 11-1 record through the first 12 matches for the third time in the last four seasons … It is the fifth time in program history that the Broncos have compiled a win streak of 11 or more matches; it has happened three times since the beginning of 2018 (a 12-match win streak in 2018, a 12-match win streak spanning the 2019 and 2021 seasons, and the current 11-match win streak, dating back to Aug. 26) … The longest win streak in program history came during the 2005 season, a 19-match win streak (from 8/26/05 to 10/15/05) … The Broncos now lead the all-time series with Cal State Dominguez Hills at 71-12, having won (and swept) the last three matchups … It is the fourth time in program history that the Broncos have gone 11-1 or better through the first 12 matches of a season … CPP has now held an opponent to a sub-.100 hitting percentage for the fourth time this season, matching the number of times CPP held an opponent under .100 last season … Ranked in the Top 25 this week at No. 23, CPP is now 272-163 as a nationally-ranked team since 1986 … As a program, CPP is now 763-530 all-time, including 233-204 in road matches and 373-295 in conference play since the program's inception in 1980 … The Broncos have now won 13 consecutive CCAA matches dating back to last season … CPP is now 314-204 in three-set matches all-time.
